Merry Meet and Welcome Back

Merry Meet and Welcome Back

“What a long, strange trip it’s been.”
    (Grateful Dead):

Merry meet everyone,

I know it’s been a while, and I hope to rectify that soon. In May 2020, Florian got up one morning and couldn’t remember how to write, or type, or his passwords, or pretty much anything else. Drs. diagnosed him with a glioblastoma, or brain cancer.

They didn’t expect him to live more than about 3 months, but he was a fighter and lived much longer. For the next year and a half, that was my focus. During that time, we closed so that I could deal with the situation at home. After that, I think I was recovering from Florian’s passing, and I just couldn’t. Couldn’t do much of anything but go through the motions—the proverbial putting one foot in front of the other. If you’ve ever lost someone really close, you know what I mean.

Just a quick note: please leave a list of your contacts and passwords in case anything happens to you. Since this was unexpected (isn’t it always), we hadn’t done any of that. Trying to get into his accounts was an enormous hassle, and I still don’t know how to contact his sister or even if she’s still alive.

Anyway, I seem to have recovered from his passing, although I still miss him, of course. With the uncertainty in our world and our country, Aeslin and I decided the time was right to reopen to help meet the needs of paths other than Christianity. We all really need our gods now. And as we know, pagans always get vilified by the evangelicals. And then there are the political self-proclaimed Christians who are working to destroy our freedoms and our country.

I know it’s a difficult time for many of us as we watch the freedoms we fought for erode, and sometimes, it feels like all we can do is scream into the void, so to speak. That’s another reason we decided to reopen now. Maybe we can get through it together, as the saying goes, one day at a time.

I will admit, we don’t have many Christian items, but those supplies are easy to find, so we’re back and want to welcome you all back to the blog.

Everyone is welcome here. We’ll post about pagan topics and their relevance to today’s world. We want everyone to find something here to help them on their path, whether it is a product, a blog, a spell, or just a question they would like the answer to.  If you have that question, someone else probably does too.

On another note, my roommate and I went to the No Kings rally on our local square today. It made my heart happy to see the turnout. I try not to get too political in my blogs, but as a child of the 60s, when individual rights are under attack, sometimes I can’t help myself. I won’t get on my soapbox here. :) I will try to keep most of it on my other blog, Texas Sandbox, but… The country is in crisis, and we will try to keep you up to date on the protests we know about. If you know of any, please let us know, and we will pass the information along.

So let me know what topics you would like to see in this space, and we welcome comments. There’s really only one rule for posting. Three parts, one rule. :)

  • Be polite, and while you are welcome to celebrate your own path, you are not free to denigrate other paths or name-call on this page.
  • We will delete anything that spreads hate or disparages other paths. We want everyone to be comfortable here.
  • Basically, be nice to each other.

That's it for now. We're happy to be back, and we hope you will allow us to help you find what you need to walk, or find, your path.  Thanks for reading! You can subscribe to the blog by clicking here.
