Welcome to Pagan Realms!

We are Belisana and Aeslin.  Bellisana has followed a solitary pagan path with a periodic connection to a coven, for over 40 years, and Aeslin for 20.  Since we now live 1200 miles apart we realized that there are many people out there who are separated from a community or who just enjoy meeting new people, so we created Pagan Realms to be a community site as well as a source for all your ritual, spell, and spiritual needs.

We follow complimentary but diverse eclectic, pagan paths, that include elements of Wicca, and other paths, so we don’t advocate one path over another.  We believe that each person is a reflection of their own beliefs, and their own form of spiritual practice, whether they follow one path or combine elements of many into their personal belief system.

We would love to hear from you! Let's connect!

Everyone is welcome here, and we welcome your poems, art, short stories, ideas, recipes, and your opinion! We love hearing from you and welcome your submissions. Be our next featured artist, writer, creative genius!

Here you will find an assortment of inspiring items to support your path to living gratefully, joyfully, successfully, and with compassion and kindness. Most of our selection is made in the USA.

Fall!

It actually felt like fall for the first time this year. I live in Texas, so it will warm up again, but it’s here! I love most seasons except summer, so I’m relieved that part of the year is over. Like most pagans, I’m also looking forward to Samhain, and while I don’t know about anyone else, I’m looking forward to winter. That said, I’ll admit we don’t get much snow, or really have what most people would call a winter, but I like it because it’s just cold enough that you feel like getting out and doing things, but not so bad you can’t go anywhere.

Along with fall comes Samhain, which is my favorite holiday. The veil thins and magical energy intensifies. You can feel the extra energy in the air, and everything seems a little sharper and clearer. I generally use the time between Mabon and Samhain to prepare for Samhain. I reflect back on the past year and determine what I want to let go of, and what I want to begin or change in the New Year.

A Spell for Cleansing and Charging Your Tools

YAY!!! It’s almost Samhain!!! Whether you call it Halloween, Samhain, All Hallows Eve, or any of the numerous other terms for it, this is my favorite time of the year, and the same is true for most pagans and Wiccans I know, and while I generally don’t go to many group rituals during the year, my favorites of all the rituals I’ve been to are the Samhain rituals. This time of the year, the veil between the worlds is thinnest, and it's one of the best times to do magic.

Samhain is also a time for letting go. We want to leave those things from the past that limit us behind and prepare to move forward into the New Year. Since I use my athame to cut those ties, I cleanse it before and after the ritual, so when I cut the ties between the things of the past that I’m releasing and set my intentions for the new year, I want my tools to cut cleanly. Afterward, I want to cleanse it of any residue from the past that might cling. More!

Blessed Mabon everyone!

A Spell for Wisdom

The pot roast is on, and we're preparing for feasting. We've already talked about things to do for Mabon, but this week's spell is certainly as valid for Mabon/Equinox as at any other time.  On a waxing moon is best, so now would work well, and as the summer fades, we move forward toward the end of the year, and the New Year on Samhain, a time of reflection.

For me, the winter months are a time of study as well as reflection, so one of the spells I work in preparation for this study and the New Year is a spell to bring wisdom so that I can use what I’ve learned over the past year in the coming one. As you can tell, I tend to use different types of spells based on my goals, the time of year, and my energy level, so starting with a spell to increase understanding and knowledge and thereby wisdom, is, for me, a lovely way to start my prep for the new year.

Ladybug Luck

I have a ladybug living on my desk. I’m happy about this, of course, because ladybugs bring good luck. This belief may originate from their propensity to devour aphids and other bugs that harm plants.  Farmers love them, and who can blame them. For my money, that ladybug can eat all the other bugs he or she wants.

The ladybug made me think about the concept of luck. Some believe it is fated and nothing you do can affect how much good or bad luck you have. Others believe the amount of good luck you have is directly proportionate to how much work you do. If you’re like most people, you’re somewhere in the middle. We can influence the amount of luck we have, not only through our actions but also through our manipulation of energy through spells and connecting with the universal source, the divine. [More]

A Spell for Balance and Harmony

Next Thursday is the Autumnal equinox, the day when day and night are of equal length, and we switch from the growing part of the year to the part of the year for storing and studying. Depending on the deities you follow, you may see this as Persephone returning to Hades for the winter before she returns to Olympus in the spring, or as has more recently come to be associated with the equinox, the imprisonment and freedom of Mabon, son of Modon. However, regardless of which deities you associate with the equinox, it is a time of change and a time of balance...[read more & Get Bellisana's Balance & Harmony Spell to add to your book of shadows!]

A Spell for Good Luck

With Mabon fast approaching, many of us are considering how we will celebrate. As for my house, we’re having a pot roast made with homegrown potatoes, carrots, and onion.  For those of you who know me, no, I did not grow these at “my” home. My thumb is unfortunately, somewhat brown, but my roommate keeps us in herbs and tomatoes. However, no matter how good he is, we just don’t have that big a garden.  This is a feast to celebrate the harvest though, so it’s only fitting to use fresh vegetables.

Another element of my preparation for Mabon is to decide what type of ritual and spell we want to do for the Equinox, and get ready for that by casting a luck spell beforehand to add energy to our ritual.

As with most spells, the caster can customize the spell to individual preference. Many people simply choose to wear a talisman or charm to add to their good luck. Others want to cast a circle, call the quarters, and use formal customs. Both types work equally well. The focus, intent, and beliefs of the caster determine the effectiveness of all spells, so if something about a spell is not working for you, change it. Your ability to put everything into your spell will determine the outcome, so you want to make it good.

Not only can you draw good luck with this spell, you can also bless and anoint a good luck talisman of some sort at the same time. You will need ... [read more]
