Totems for Transformation

Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.”

Emily Dickinson

This has been a long year here at Pagan Realms. COVID-19 has slowed everything, and then in May, Florian was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (brain cancer), so we’ve been dealing with that as well. We’re not sure how it will turn out with Florian, but I think we’ve reached a turning point on the journey, at least on a broader level.

For me, I’ve felt like the hope of Dickinson’s quote has been buried, and is now fluttering up from the depths. It’s been a long year and a seemingly longer election; and while there are still some things to finish up, we’re looking forward to a new year and new hope.

I think we can all use a bit of luck going forward, so I’ve got a few totems for you that will help inspire and help you on the next part of our journey. We’ve talked about totems before, both in general and for specific totems, so this is just a brief listing of the major aspects of each totem for healing and transformation. Since we’ll be in flux for a while, and probably until January 20, 2021, we will all need help with our personal transformations regardless of how you viewed the election.

Samhain has just passed, and the new year is looking hopeful.  We have a brand new year that if nothing else, most of it won’t be in 2020. Now it’s up to all of us to continue the work we’ve started to make the world a better place. We need to eliminate our negativity and work together.  Get out that sage, or whatever you use to cleanse, and clear your space, smudge yourself, take a cleansing bath. Do whatever it takes to prepare yourself for the work ahead. Get your totems ready to see you through the changes to come.

“Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are.”

Saint Augustine

Hope’s daughters are working their magic in the world now, and it’s up to us to help them.

Thanks for reading! Healing energy for Florian welcome. I hope the world is looking bright and sunny for you today!!
